Shake Off the Rust and Blow Out the Dust Community Band Camp!

We know there are a lot of former band members in our communities who are reluctant to play again because they aren't sure they remember how. Many people have said that Community Band looks like fun and they would like to try it, but they just wish that they had a place to find out if they could still play first. Well, that wish has been granted! The first annual Shake Off the Rust and Blow Out the Dust Community Band Camp is here! The camp will be offered the week of June 23-27th. It will be held at the Marysville HS band room from 7-8:30 each evening. Bud Schuette will be on hand to inspect instruments and make sure that they are in playing condition. MHS band director Tobias Wood and MCCB director Melissa Baker will be available for instruction on brass and woodwind instruments. Camp participants will work on some easy music to help remember those fingerings and slide positions and to wake up those old face and finger muscles. Participants can attend all five evenings if they choose, or just as many as they are able to. On Sunday June 29th, campers are invited to play a special piece with the MCCB at the Koester House concert if they would like to. So if you are a former band member who has been thinking about getting that old horn out again, or if you know someone who is, come check us out. Shake off that rust and blow out that dust!
